(In Review) Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) Course

As a follow up to my previous VMCE post, I thought it would be best to share w\ the audience my personal experience while attending the course at VeeamON.

The course is taught over 3 days, each day 8 hours starting on Saturday and ending on Monday before VeeamON begins. Each training room fits roughly 25 students with 1 instructor (Paul Jensen in my case). Included in the training are printed and digital courseware (the digital courseware is the preferred method to use because they include automatic updates), lab access (good for 6 months), complimentary practice exam accessand an exam voucher.

Each day we covered multiple modules (typically 6-7) followed up by an online lab for each. The labs were very straightforward, easy to follow along, and varied in length (20 – 60 minutes). As I’ve mentioned previously, the online labs are available for 6 months.

Additionally, there are multiple resources found online to can help you prepare for the exam and they include the VMCE 9.5 Unofficial Study Guide which can be purchased here and is co-authored by Rhys Hammond and Rose Herden. Shane Williford also provided additional resources which can be found here. I also plan to follow up with Florian Raack whenever I’m stuck or need an answer as a I prepare.

To further cement my training knowledge as I prepare for the exam, I plan to get more involved in the Veeam Community (VUG – Veeam User Group). If you’re interested in a local VUG, please register here.

At the conclusion of the course, you will receive an email survey that will also include additional online resources to help prepare for and how to register for the exam.
