Looking back on my original post, I can’t help but to smile and count my blessings as I reflect on my first VeeamON experience. What an absolute thrill ride and I’m thankful for the opportunity to attend. From start to finish including leading up to the event, it was flawless.
A lot of the momentum leading into this event was generated months ago when I was accepted as a Veeam Vanguard. If my memory serves me correctly, Rick Vanover pointed out that I’m 1 of 62 Vanguards in the world. #PinchMe
This is a great opportunity to thank Rick, Kirsten Stoner and the Veeam team for their dedication and efforts. As an outsider looking in, you rarely realize the effort that goes into the coordination of an event of this size which includes the breakout and general sessions, interviews, live demos and the Vanguard meeting to name a few. I now understand why many refer to Rick as the #RICKATRON. He’s a machine that doesn’t stop but does so in a calm and professional manner. He’s as cool as the other side of the pillow and would highly recommended his VeeamON Day 1 and Day 2 recaps.
My time at VeeamON started with the VMCE course which was documented in the blog posts below.
I try my best not to rank my experiences in any order because I like to remain neutral and professional to everyone involved but if I was required to rank my top moment, it has to include the opportunity to present at VeeamON with fellow Vanguards (Jim Jones, Matt Crape, Shane Williford and Kevin Allan) including Rick Vanover on Ransomware Resiliency. If you’re interested in learning more about our presentation including tips on how to combat Ransomware, please feel free to reach out to any of us.
It was great to see Michael Cade, Anthony Spiteri and David Hill again in person. If you recall, we met at #CFD5 for Tech Field Day. For more information about the experience, please click on the links below:
Events like VeeamON are a fantastic way to meet individuals in the #vCommunity you’ve never had the chance to meet previously. It was such a blast to spend time with new and current friends and they include Val, Florian, Falko, Giovanni, Jens, Nathan, Eric, Joe, Fred, Luciano, Vanny Vanguard, Christopher, Karel, Craig, Enrico, Tim, Niels, Justin, Dave Russell and The Rat Pack, If I missed anyone, please accept my apology.
The Fontainebleau was the host venue for the event and they did a wonderful job. The staff, location and service are top notch and would definitely recommend staying there.
In conclusion and looking ahead, I’m very happy I took the time to attend VeeamON and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in the near future. As I’ve stated many times in the past, Kindness Matters my friends and I’m thankful to have connected with each of you.
