Configuring vSphere Replication v8.8.0.3

The purpose of this blog post is to provide the guidance and the steps needed to configure vSphere Replication v8.8.0.3 after it’s been successfully installed (see installation blog post here).

** This guides applies to my personal home lab environment so please proceed with caution and take the appropriate steps including documentation to ensure you have a successful backup. **

  • Log into your VMware VRMS Appliance Management using the assigned hostname or IP address:

  • Select Launch vSphere Replication Appliance Management at the Getting Started page:

  • At the Summary window, please select Configure Appliance:

  • Enter the username and password for the vCenter Server and then select Next:
  • Select Connect to proceed past the Security Alert:

  • Select the desired vCenter Server followed by Next:

  • Select Connect to proceed past the Security Alert:

  • A preferred Site Name and Email Address is required to receive notifications, followed by Next to proceed:
Name and Extension
  • Once you’ve reviewed and confirmed the parameters you have created, please select Finish to proceed:
Ready To Complete
  • Please allow a few minutes for the new changes to apply:
Registering vSphere Replication
  • Once the changes have applied successfully, you should receive a similar message:

  • It will also be reflected in vSphere under Recent Tasks:
